“The Weekly Prayer Project” Community Group – Facilitator: Susan Lloyd
Do you find yourself throwing on the invisibility cloak when someone utters the words “who would like to lead us in prayer?” Are you thinking, “please don’t pick me”? We’ve all been there. Fear not! Prayer is God’s gift of communication to us. A powerful tool in our faith life that we may not be using to its full potential or can feel insecure in utilizing. What does the Bible teach us about prayer? What did Jesus’ prayer life look like? In regards to prayer, what am I missing? How can I develop a richer prayer life? In this community group, we will answer these questions and learn to embrace prayer.
“The Weekly Prayer Project” community group will be a safe, comfortable, supportive and fun place to grow and strengthen your prayer life and deepen your understanding of the power found in communicating with God. Together, using this beautifully appointed, extremely user friendly journal, we will be guided into a study of 52 scriptures, one for each week, focused on the different types of prayers found in the Bible. Prayers of gratitude and thankfulness, lament, intercession, requests, repentance, and faith will be explored. Deepen your relationship with God as you grow your confidence in communicating with Him.
Group will meet virtually each Sunday from 6:30 – 7:15 initially to ensure safe, healthy environment for all. The hope is to eventually transition to in-person meetings. Gathering time my change as in-person meeting becomes an option.
