Great ways to serve!

We have five core volunteer teams: events, facilitators, hospitality, house management, and special projects. Learn more about these core teams.

Events Team

Are you a hands-on person who likes to make things happen? If so, our Events Team might be a great fit for you! As a member of this team, you would assist in our community outreach and fundraising events. This could include any event preparations, set-up and tear down, and assisting attendees at events. Scheduling varies, according to event and need.

Facilitators Team

Do you have a passion for sharing truth and building a safe place for healing and growth? Consider serving as House of Hope facilitator! Our team of facilitators plays the vital role of leading classes at House of Hope. Facilitators may create their own class, along with the Director of Classes, or lead a book or curriculum.

At the House, we do not see ourselves as teaching others because we are “experts.” Rather, we pursue our healing and freedom with Jesus, and as we are set free, Jesus is more free to move through us to draw others into liberation. For this reason volunteers must have participated in at least one class at House of Hope before facilitating a class. Other requirements vary depending on the class. Facilitators of any phase of The Ultimate Journey are encouraged to complete all three phases before facilitating. However, minimally, The Ultimate Journey facilitators must have completed the phase following the phase they are facilitating. All facilitators must be in full agreement with the core documents of the ministry (mission statement, core values, statement of faith, and statement of purpose).

Hospitality Team

Are you a friendly person who enjoys meeting new people? Would you like to take part in the warm and welcoming environment at House of Hope? As a member of our Hospitality Team, you would greet guests, answer the phone, make sure the house is ready for visitors, and assist in other ministry needs that may arise. Your inviting smile or friendly voice could be the first contact that someone has with House of Hope – or the reason that they come back! Our greeters must be available during regular office hours (anytime M-F between 8:30-4:30, as your schedule permits).

Not available during the regular workday? Not to worry! You can still serve on our Hospitality Team by utilizing your cooking or baking skills! We have an occasional need for volunteers to provide refreshments for board meetings, tour groups, or special events. Use your gift of hospitality to bless others through their taste buds! Volunteers will be contacted on an as-needed basis.

House Management

Are you looking for a volunteer position that is flexible, always needed, and essential for maintaining our beautiful historic house? There are many opportunities for you to support the ministry in practical ways! As a member of our House Maintenance Team, you could help with mowing or gardening, inventory control, cleaning projects, home repairs, or a variety of other ongoing needs! You can play a vital part at House of Hope by contributing your time and talents here! Hours are flexible, according to your availability.

Special Projects Team

Are you interested in getting involved, but not sure where to plug in? Are you available on an occasional basis? Is your desire to help out in whatever is most needed at the time? Joining our Special Projects Team might just be the perfect fit! Members of this team will be contacted on an as-needed basis. We may call in our “special forces” to assist us with holiday decorations, organizational projects, mass mailings, yard work, or whatever other need may arise! You would be contacted when a special project presents itself and given the opportunity to join in according to your interest and availability!
