What Makes House of Hope Unique and How Does it Benefit Our Community?

House of Hope serves as "an arm" to our local churches and social service agencies.  In addition to our housing, classes and seminars, we offer one-on-one mentoring.  We provide focused attention for specific emotional and spiritual needs.

Over and over again we see women take what they have learned at the House of Hope and the healing they have received back into their church and community.  The work God does here has a ripple affect and impacts families, churches, the workplace, and our community in a positive life-giving way.

Research shows that following a disaster (the flood in our case) that a community will see an exodus of clergy, social, and mental health workers within 3-5 years after the disaster.  The reason. . .they simply are burned out.

We don't want that to be the case in our community and so we encourage you to continue to support your local church and the non-profit agencies.  Now is not the time to withdraw our giving.  House of Hope is serving more women than ever in 2009.  We know this to be a generous community.  When there is a need, the people of Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas respond.  Thank you for supporting us!

Thanks for visiting our web site!  There is a lot going on for 2009.  Please check out the CLASSES we are offering and email us at houseofhopecr@qwestoffice.net to sign up.  Class sizes are limited so don't delay.

Sincerely,

Lenchen Raeside, Executive Director
